Superman And The Mole-Men was mostly written by Whit Ellsworth, I had the good fortune of knowing Whit, and after his death in September, 1980, I continued my friendship with his wife, Jane, and their daughter Pat Ellsworth Wilson. In 1997, Pat submitted this article that was subsequently published in the “The Adventures Continue” fan magazine that summer.

Present At The Creation of Superman And The Mole-Men
by Pat Ellsworth Wilson

In 1951, July 8 fell on a Sunday. Production on Superman And The Mole-Men was set to begin on Tuesday, and most likely George Reeves was at home brushing up on dialogue for his first scenes as Clark Kent.

We don't know which scenes were first to go before the cameras, but since the mole men had not yet been cast, it might well have been one of these non-mole men, non-Superman scenes.
