The actor who played the shy scienceteacher, Mr. Boynton, on
the 1950s T-V show "Our Miss Brooks" hasdied. Robert
Rockwell was 82. He'd been battling cancer.He's the second cast
member from "Our Miss Brooks" to die this month. Richard
Crenna, who played the squeaky-voiced student Walter Denton,
died January 17th. A few months ago, Rockwell told A-P Network
News that the role of Mr. Boynton was his favorite. More recently,
Rockwell played Alan Thicke's step-father on "Growing Pains."
He had a recurring role in "Diff'rent Strokes." In
a long-running Werther's Original T-V commercial, Rockwell played
a grandfather treating his grandson to the candy. Robert Rockwell
