1) MYSTERIES AND SCANDALS REMINDER
Don't forget to watch Mysteries & Scandals tonight
on the E! Entertainment
Network at 9 PM Eastern time. The entire half hour is devoted
to George
Reeves, and I can promise that you will see photographs you've
never seen
before.
2) SUPERMAN ON TELEVISION BY MICHAEL BIFULCO
There is good news on the horizon. I've just got word from Michael
Bifulco
that his book, Superman On Television,
will be ready for shipment in April.
For an update on the book, go to my Recommended Reading page
at
<www.jimnolt.com/reading.htm>.
I'm now taking advance orders. Make checks payable to Jim
Nolt.
The cost is $24.95 plus $3 shipping. All money will remain with
me until
Mike can give me a definite release date. I'll keep you informed
of his
progress.
Send your check or money order to:
Jim Nolt
220 N. Walnut St.
Lititz, PA 17543
3) A DWIGHT KEMPER PRODUCTION
In previous issues of TAC, Jr. you learned about Dwight Kemper's
production
of the "Superman Murder Mystery Case." Dwight and company
will next be
appearing at The Edge of Thyme Bed & Breakfast in Candor,
New York on April
26. For tickets, call the Broome Community College Adult Education
Center at
607-778-5012 for reservations. $29 per person include gourmet
brunch and the
crime scene investigation. Photos and a story about a previous
presentation of
"The Superman Murder Mystery" will be included in TAC
#15 later this year.
4) AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOS
If you haven't visited the Autographed Photo page at my website
yet
www.jimnolt.com/autographs.htm please do. The number of signed
photos from Robert Shayne is limited. If you ever want to have
one, now is
your chance. Also, I'll be adding additional Phyllis Coates photos
soon. She
has sent one of her with Clayton Moore and another from I
Was a Teenage
Frankenstein, and Panther Girl of the Kongo. And for
you old western fans
like Tom Chenevert, there's even one of her with Johnny Mack
Brown (from
Ambush Canyon). In addition, I'm working to get some photos
of Jack and
Noel, so that you won't have to go hunting all over creation
to them. Keep
checking back to the web page or send e-mail to spur me on if
you see no
progress soon. [Note: Autographed photos
are no longer available
through The Adventures Continue. jln 12/26/2000]
5) CAN ANYONE HELP CHUCK HARTER?
Chuck Harter (see Superboy & Superpup: The Lost Videos
on the Recommended
Reading page) is currently seeking a publisher for his new
book. Chuck has
been researching and gathering data for more than ten years and
has kindly
shared much of it with me for my magazine, The Adventures
Continue. The good
news is that Chuck has recently obtained permission from DC Comics
to submit
a proposal to publishers for his Classic Adventures of Superman
book.
He'll be writing the proposal and preparing a sample chapter
within the next
month. Based on the many photographs and interviews which he
has given to
The Adventures Continue over the years, I know his book
will be the
definitive history of our favorite show. In addition, it will
be the only
information source for George Reeves's personal appearances throughout
the
1950's including the fair tour taken in 1957, just before he
filmed the
final thirteen episodes of the series. Chuck is actively seeking
an agent to
represent him. If anyone reading this is acquainted with a literary
agent,
I'm sure Chuck would appreciate any aid you could lend. Please
write to
Chuck Harter, 6906 Treasure Trail, Hollywood Hills, CA 90068.
Please, if anyone reading this has any literary connections,
please let me
know so that I can pass the information on to Chuck. I've seen
most of
Chuck's material, and it is absolutely astounding. The only way
all of us
will ever get to see it, however, is if his book becomes a reality.
Please
help if you can.
6) HOLLYWOOD COLLECTIBLES & CELEBRITIES SHOW
On Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5, Ray and Sharon Courts
present the
Hollywood Collectors & Celebrities Show at the Beverly Garland
Holiday Inn,
4222 Vineland Avenue, North Hollywood, California. The addmission
is $7
daily. Scheduled guest of special interest to readers of The
Adventures
Continue is Robert Rockwell (Jor-El in "Superman On
Earth"). Other scheduled
guests include Clint Walker, Mackenzie Phillips, Linda Blair,
Pamela Sue
Martin, Howard Hesseman, Pat Preist, Irish McCalla, Mrs. Hopalong
Cassidy,
Maggie Peterson (Charlene Darling from The Andy Griffith Show),
Jon Provost,
Kathy Garver, and many others.
